Okay, so I lost momentum with baby week. But that does not mean that I am out of delightful babyness to share! When Reichel from Copy Cat Chic contacted me about doing some calligraphy for her baby shower, I was ecstatic. She’s so {well, you know} chic… I just couldn’t wait to see what her baby shower would look like and I was thrilled to be a part! The beautiful photos {from Amanda Lock Photography} did not disappoint–it’s basically one of the cutest showers ever. You can see my calligraphy in the frame that her guests signed for little Arden’s room. I sent a digital file, so creative Reichel also enlarged it and used the design to create a banner appropriately displayed on a horse–of course! {Calligraphy on a horse? Now that’s a lindsay letters first!} Check out the photos below, and stop by Reichel’s blog to tell her congratulations on the birth of her beautiful new baby, and to see more photos and details about her shower here. Reichel, you’re delightful. I look forward to the chance to work with you again! xo, linds

My new friend Shauna is my dream client. It’s easy to make fun invites for a writer/foodie/party thrower/entertainer with super creative ideas! I’m honored to get to design for any party she throws. For this particular baby shower, the mommy-to-be is famous for her cupcakes, and thus a theme was born. Here are some photos of the invites I created for the baby shower–both the invites for the guests, as well as the invites for the guests of honor. Many blessings and congratulations to the Hogans! xo, linds

I think I have a case of the “Iwishitwasn’twinteranymores.” So, time to think of something cheery. I just love getting to create baby shower invites and other pretty paper for babies {or, rather, their mommas!}. And it seems spring is when I get the most requests to do so. There is something invigorating about designing for baby showers, especially this time of year. All the newness and freshness and cuteness! This week I’m going to share some baby bliss with you–an homage to all the expectant mommies in our lives–and hopefully welcoming spring very soon!

Below is a picture of an invite I created for a dear friend Theresa. The paper is from Paper Source, and each one was uniquely typed on a typewriter, calligraphied, and hand painted. No two were exactly the same! They went in a leaf colored envelope with curry dot liner {I wish I could find the envelope to show you!}.

Theresa is such a wonderful friend, and her little man is one of my favorite babies to cuddle. I was so happy to create a special invite to celebrate the both of them! {That was going to be the end of the post, but I figured I would give you a little more eye candy than that!} Below is a photo T took of the pièce de résistance from the shower: Ahndea’s brown sugar crusted french toast. Seriously, the best thing I’ve ever eaten. And to the right, some photos of the little Cooper from last month. Isn’t he adorable?!

Babies? Brown sugar? I am feeling much cheerier now. {Hope you are too!} xo, linds

Over my Wednesday morning coffee, I’ll be indulging my love of glitter, accessories, and ninjas dancing in powder. Won’t you join me?

1. January Red by Ely Kim, commissioned by Kate Spade. {First discovered this at Paper Fashion}. // 2. Ban-do shoot featuring the new spring line. Makes me want to be on a fashion shoot! {Or anywhere with that much makeup and glitter}. // 3. Adele Rolling in the Deep music video. I’ve loved Adele since 19. This single is rockin and the video… wow. Thanks for sharing, Corbyn! // 4. Alison Sudol in Lost Things. {She’s my girl crush}. 5. J. Crew’s About a Shoe. I’d like to be drinking cappuccino in Italy right about now!…

Hope you enjoy! xo, linds

Well, I DID IT!!! After a long week of feeling awful, I was thankfully feeling well enough to get to go to my appointment on Friday! Yay! {Incidentally, don’t go get a tattoo when you’re still on flu meds. I completely overdid it and was down for the count the rest of the weekend. BUT! Anyway, back to Friday…}. Remember the tattoo design I told you about? Well, as a refresher, I commissioned the amazing illustrator Katie Rogers of Paper Fashion to create a custom tattoo illustration and it was perfect!!! Exactly what I’d been wanting!!! {Katie, you’re the BEST!}. Here’s the print out I brought to the amazing Andrew Stickler of Odds ‘N Ends Tattoo Studio. {I wonder if I’m the first person to bring Paper Source paper swatches in to a tattoo studio as color references?}

Andrew did the most amazing job. If you’re in the Chicago area and you’re in the market for a tattoo, go see Andrew. He’s a great guy with a beautiful shop. And, most importantly, he does beautiful work. My friend Jeff stopped by and took some photos while I was getting the outline. Take a look!

I really could not possibly be more pleased with the result! Thanks to my “entourage” ;o) for stopping by during the process–you all certainly made the event more enjoyable! And thanks again a million to Andrew and Katie–I am beyond thrilled!!! xo, linds
