Sometimes, you have time to make yourself a really legit breakfast. Sometimes you don’t. This past Saturday, I definitely did not. However, I was indeed in the mood to procrastinate from all the lovely lettering I had on my plate. It was too late in the morning to coheres anyone to meet me at Mary’s Market for breakfast for their famous eggs benedict {plus I pretty much blew the my allotted funds for this pay period last night}. Anyway, I’ve never made a poached egg before, so I decided that now was just as good a time to try as ever. I looked up a bunch of tutorials, and pretty much decided the key was just to put the eggs into a tiny bowl and very gently put it into the simmering {vinegared, salted} water. I love food, but this is hardly a cooking blog. So… sorry I can’t be more help in the way of directions. Google it, if you’re curious. I’d been craving the ham, swiss, and béchamel crepes my mom and I had for my birthday lunch, so I decided to try to incorporate that craving into my homemade brunch as well. Add a cup of coffee and a J.Crew magazine and I was all set! The only thing that would have made the morning better would have been an extra hour with nothing to do!.. and maybe some grilled asparagus. xo, linds
