Yesterday was beautiful here! Before I’d finished my florentine eggs benedict for brunch, I knew that a long walk was going to be in my day’s future. Before I knew it, I looked out the window and the sun was setting. WHAT?! I mean, it was only 4:15. I grabbed the dog and bolted out the door to get on my walking way before it was too dark in the woodsy area that I like to walk. Once I got about halfway around the park, I found myself telling Riley {he’s a dog, so he doesn’t really care, but anyway} how good my feet felt in the shoes I was wearing. Since I rushed out the door so fast, I hadn’t stopped to put any thought into my footwear… but–luckily–they were my TOMS. Score! So, on behalf of my happy feet, I wanted to write this post.
I’m not sure if you’re familiar with TOMS Shoes or not, but they are such a wonderful organization. Here’s part of their mission: “TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we’re all about.” get. out. Can you beat that? For those of you that ordered a pair of TOMS a couple years ago and haven’t checked back, give them another look. They are super comphy, have more arch support than 99% of my other shoes {I’m either wearing cheap ballet flats or running shoes, so take that as you may}, and come in so many styles and colors. I have a pair of ash wedges from the summer collection, and some saffron yellow cords gifted to me by my good friend Christina. {Thanks again, Shums!} Now on my wish list are these gilded herringbone lovelies:
Check them out. Do something good for your feet, and someone else. But before you go, feast your eyes on a few photos from our wedding. The guys rocked the TOMS! {Miss Joy was probably slightly less comfy!} Beautiful pictures by lark photos, of course.
*If shoes isn’t your fancy, there are bunches of ways to be a considerate shopper and so many Fair Trade options available. Trade As One happens to be one of my favorites. {Oh! Reminds me: My friend Leah got us hooked on this delicious coffee from the Just Coffee Co-op, and couldn’t be happier with it. Such great flavor! Check out their mission and order a bag. You won’t regret it}. xx, linds
