When Jess asked if I’d create an invite for sweet Elsie’s “sugar plum fairy, wear-your-tutu, winter-wonderland” themed birthday party, of course I had to say yes! The invite is a mix of my hand-drawn type and Helvetica {which you can’t go wrong with in my opinion}. Trusty Martha came to the rescue with the sugar plum glitter and the pattern on the back of the invite is scrapbook paper I scanned in. The original plan for the insides of the illustrated snowflakes was to stick a little half rhinestone in one of them, but I was afraid that it would poke through the envelope in the mailing process. So, I decided to save that for the batch that won’t go through the mail. For this group, I punched confetti out of opal-y pink paper to add one more element of pretty party to the mix. Normally I’m not a huge fan of opening an envelope and having stuff fall out at you, but since these were tucked inside frosted vellum, the recipient {er… fairy…} could see the fun coming. Finish it all off with rounded corners and there you have it! I hope that a smile is brought to the face of everyone that receives one of these invites. I can’t wait to see some photos of the little birthday girl in her tutu! xo, linds
